Gold Coast Salsa

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How can I put my name down to try a class?

We ask each of our prospective students to create a free account in our online system before coming in to the studio. It’s super easy to do, and it’ll save you a bit of time on the day, before your first class. You can do this online at: http://goo.gl/7EbS8P

Do I need to bring a dance partner?

You don’t need a dance partner to get started, and we partner people up in classes. We rotate everybody in the class, but if couples would like to only dance together, we cater to that too.

The fastest way to learn is to dance with everybody in the class, that way you’re not only learning to dance, but make friends as well. Our students feedback is that after dancing with everybody, they feel a lot more comfortable to come out and social dance at our parties.

How long is each class?

All of our classes are 45 minutes in length, followed by 15 minutes of social dancing and practice.

How long is each course?

Our full syllabus for each level is 8 weeks in length, but you can also enrol for a half course of 4 weeks if you’d like.

Can I come and pay casually?

You are welcome to attend casually, but most Gold Coast Salsa students are either enrolled in a course or are members who pay their membership fees via our online system.

The cost of a casual class is $27.50 per class, while we have membership options starting from only $22.50 per week, so a membership would definitely be more cost effective.

You can pause or cancel after your first 8 weeks, and memberships don’t have any setup fees. To enrol, you can take a look at our membership options online, or you can come visit us at the studio in person to try a class first.

Can I pause or cancel my membership?

Absolutely. All of our memberships have a minimum length of 8 weeks, but after that you can suspend or cancel your membership at any time by logging into your account online at: https://clients.mindbodyonline.com/classic/ws?studioid=189183&stype=-2&subTab=account

Alternatively, if you’d rather not manage your membership yourself, please just send us an e-mail with at least 14 days notice to dance@goldcoastsalsa.com.au

What is your refund policy?

We have a try before you buy offer for your first class, however once you have purchased a course or enrolled for a membership, course fees are strictly non-refundable. If for any reason you find that you would like to discontinue your classes though, you are welcome to transfer your credit to another person to remain on their account.

I already have some dance experience, where should I start?

This is a difficult question to answer without seeing you in person. We generally recommend all students with limited experience in the dance style start with our Beginner level courses for each dance style where they will learn proper technique and fundamental moves.

For those who have previous experience in the dance style, but just need to brush up on technique, we are usually happy for you to attend both the Beginner and Improver level classes at the same time. If you let us know that you have experience we can quickly and easily check your level during your first class and place you in a more appropriate level for the following class.

Entry into our Intermediate level or higher classes require explicit permission though, as every student in those classes has earned their way by completing the respective courses. A private lesson may be booked to accelerate your entry into the higher levels though, if you feel that you have sufficient experience.
